2010-11 CHT IN SEASON HOCKEY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM



1.       Start Date: September 20th – week of

2.      End Date: January 24th – week of (make sure all evaluations/meetings done)

3.      Total weeks – 16

4.      Break down of 16 weeks

-          Week one – intro, on and off ice evaluations

-          Weeks two/three – power skating – how to really increase speed

-          Weeks four/five – puck control/stick handling

-          Weeks six/seven – passing/shooting

-          Weeks eight/nine – body positioning, checking, on ice anticipation/vision

-          Weeks ten/eleven – team flow drills

-          Weeks twelve/thirteen  – defensive, neutral, and offensive positional drills

-          Weeks fourteen/fifteen – team system/strategies….game situation drills/how to coach(come to, and evaluate Storm game)

-          Week sixteen – final evaluations and wrap up(would like to have team competition with prizes)

-          I will be available to students outside of designated “school” time to work on individual skills  …may be important to work on body checking in week  one or two or extra work on shooting.

 

All aspects of training for hockey will be covered to improve your game:

  • Evaluation
    Pre-training fitness test, on ice video analysis session, goal setting, and program outline
  • Mental Preparation
    Visualization and motivational techniques, game situation strategies (on and off ice), mental toughness and emotional control
  • Nutritional Instruction
    What to eat, when to eat, and how to eat healthy
  • On-Ice Clinics
    Power skating, puck control and stick handling, passing, shooting, game strategy situations, where to be when you "don’t have the puck", body positioning/checking........
  • Dry-Land Training
    AGE SPECICFIC and personalized – Anaerobic, aerobic, circuit, obstacle, weight, plyometric training, and proper stretching techniques
  • Recap
    Post-camp evaluation and a plan to improve your game for the season
  • Included –extensive program and training manuals, jersey, t-shirt, hat, and Storm tickets.

FEE:

Grade 8 and High School  - $780.00 +hst (registration requires a minimum deposit of $350.00)

Grades 7 and 9 - $410.00 +hst (registration requires a minimum deposit of $205.00)

GROUP SIZE – tbd on number of applicants – 15-20 per group/first come basis.

Level of participant – “must be able to skate”….individual development program.
